On into July and the marriage of Pete and Susie. The wedding was in two locations. They were getting married in a church near Wedmore in Somerset before moving on to continue their wedding celebrations at a village hall, on the Somerset levels, with caterers providing the wedding breakfast.

We spent the last two days of our holiday exploring the Medina and Ville Nouvelle. I was keen to walk around the outside of the Marrakesh Wall, which encloses the Medina.

Tuesday was excursion day so we were up early for our trip out to Ouzoud Falls in the Middle Atlas Mountains – the tallest waterfall in North Africa. It was a three hour coach trip from the hotel and we set off just after 7am. It was quite nice to leave the bustle of Marrakesh behind us and drive out into the more rural area outside the city.

Although we were only in Marrakesh in October, a fantastic holiday package deal we found made it possible for us to return there this December. We grabbed the opportunity and flew out on Friday 13th (we’ve no qualms about travelling on that date) for a weeks holiday at our usual Marrakesh hotel, the TUI Blue Medina Gardens.

On into April 2014 and the wedding of Andrew and Jennifer. They were getting married in their local church, where they were members of the congregation, and then holding a reception at Thornbury Golf Club. Jen’s mum and dad had been married in the same church, on the same date, thirty four years before.

We decided on another hike for Wednesday but thought we would stay local and walk the Cleveland Way coast path we’d first walked on Sunday. We’d missed out on the coastline views because of the sea mist and fog on the first walk. In total contrast, Wednesday was a lovely warm, sunny day.
