We like Rhodes. In fact we like Rhodes so much we’ve been going back most years since our first visit in 2017. A return in 2024 wasn’t initially in last years holiday plans but an offer for a cheap, all inclusive, week away by tour operator, TUI tempted us in to returning last May.

Disneyland Paris – 2022

Day 1 – Monday

In August 2022 we made a return trip to Disneyland Paris with Jo, Bel and Ted after having really enjoyed a previous visit in 2019. We decided to stay at the Davy Crockett Ranch, a Disney resort, which is just a short car ride from the Disney Parc.

Cyprus – March 2024

St Nicholas church. A short walk from our hotel. It was busy here in the evenings as its a well known spot for watching a Cyprus sunset.

I think the relentless dull, grey, dreary weather we had in the UK through, January and February, at the start of last year, made us think of getting away to find some warm sunshine.

Stock – My Stock Image Photography Story

A stock image I shot yesterday in my small stills area in the garage. I drifted into food photography during the covid pandemic as I was unable to go out and about to take pics. As a result I’ve become a bit of a baker as well. This is a New York style cheesecake I made for Xmas. Images like this sell well.

It’s always nice to make a few pennies from your hobby and that’s the way I generally view selling some of my images through a stock picture library. It’s not quite as simple as that though.

Our last wedding in 2014 was in August, to record the wedding blessing of Ben and Lucy at Miskin Manor in South Wales, UK. The couple lived in Dubai so were already married, but wanted a wedding ceremony to celebrate their marriage with friends and family.

South Wales – Pontneddfechan

The Upper Ddwli Falls or Upper Gushing Falls. I took this with the camera hand held but wedged up against a tree trunk. I wanted a long exposure to blur the water but had to keep everything else sharp at the same time.

Pontneddfechan is a small village situated in Powys, Wales, UK. It sits on the southern edge of The Brecon Beacons and gives access to a series of waterfalls in the Upper Neath valley.

On into July and the marriage of Pete and Susie. The wedding was in two locations. They were getting married in a church near Wedmore in Somerset before moving on to continue their wedding celebrations at a village hall, on the Somerset levels, with caterers providing the wedding breakfast.
