Thursday Doors – Photo Challenge

Here’s my submission for this weeks Thursday Doors photo challenge. I spotted this note tacked to the front door of a house in the Horfield area of Bristol, UK. It’s quite common to see comical notes like this around our streets. I really like the huge tacks they’ve used to hammer the message home (see what I did there).

Vintage Lenses – Pentacon 135mm F2.8

My Pentacon 135mm F2.8 plus FX Adapter on my Fujifilm X-T2

Back sometime in 2022 I decided I’d try out a few vintage lenses with my Fujifilm camera’s. I’m not sure why. It was probably following something I’d read on the internet but anyway, I decided to give it a go and invested in an K&F M42 to Fujifilm X Adapter. They sell for £16.99 from K&F.

Wordless Wednesday – Teddy on a Swing

I thought I’d use Wordless Wednesday to post this image of a sculpture I saw in Bristol today. It’s a teddy on a swing hanging from a bridge.

I’m pretty wordless because I have no idea what this is all about other than it’s the work of French artist James Colomina. It’s located underneath Gaol Ferry Bridge, Southville, Bristol

Dutch Caribbean Cruise – 2019

One of the many beautiful sunsets from our cruise ship.

To mark my 60th birthday in December 2019 we decided to try a cruise. I’d never really thought I particularly wanted to cruise. Linda was more keen than me, but if you want a holiday in December it’s a good choice for us, here in the UK.

UK – The Isle of Wight

The Needles, Isle of Wight. Two of the three huge, white chalk rocks, guarded by a 19th-century lighthouse.

The first time I visited the Isle of Wight was back in 1973, when I was taken there on a day trip with my Mums, Marks and Spencer’s works outing – remember those? I don’t remember much about that trip other than buying a souvenir keyring – remember doing that?
