My Wedding Photography Story – Part 15

On into July and the marriage of Pete and Susie. The wedding was in two locations. They were getting married in a church near Wedmore in Somerset before moving on to continue their wedding celebrations at a village hall, on the Somerset levels, with caterers providing the wedding breakfast.

Marrakesh December 2024 – Part 1 – 3

Although we were only in Marrakesh in October, a fantastic holiday package deal we found made it possible for us to return there this December. We grabbed the opportunity and flew out on Friday 13th (we’ve no qualms about travelling on that date) for a weeks holiday at our usual Marrakesh hotel, the TUI Blue Medina Gardens.

My year in music – 2024

My view of Steve Hackett at the Bristol Beacon – October 2024

I created my blog, primarily to write about my photography but I’m going to stray off topic, from time to time. Photography is only a small part of our lives so I want to record a few other things which happen to us occasionally. That leads me on to my ‘Spotify review of the Year, which landed in my email box this week.

My Wedding Photography Story – Part 14

The ring shot. Taken with my superb Canon 100mm L Macro lens. I actually shot this a few days before the wedding. I met Andrew and Jen at the venue for a pre wedding meeting and asked them to bring their rings. It was always nice to be able to take my time with these shots.

On into April 2014 and the wedding of Andrew and Jennifer. They were getting married in their local church, where they were members of the congregation, and then holding a reception at Thornbury Golf Club. Jen’s mum and dad had been married in the same church, on the same date, thirty four years before.

Travel – North Yorkshire, UK – Cleveland Way Coast Path and Bridlington

The local Fire Brigade were on an exercise in North Bay as we walked through. Here they are making rainbows.

We decided on another hike for Wednesday but thought we would stay local and walk the Cleveland Way coast path we’d first walked on Sunday. We’d missed out on the coastline views because of the sea mist and fog on the first walk. In total contrast, Wednesday was a lovely warm, sunny day.

Travel – North Yorkshire, UK – Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay

A view overlooking the coastal path walk from Ravenscar to Robin Hoods Bay

After the murky weather of the previous day, Monday couldn’t have been more different. It was nice, warm and sunny so we decided to do a circular coastal walk, from Ravenscar to Robins Hood Bay.

Travel – North Yorkshire, UK – Scarborough

Colourful Beach Huts run along the esplanade at the end of North Bay, Scarborough. You can hire them or buy one if you fancy your own seafront shed. Prices start at £65,000 – £180,000!

When we retired, two years ago, we thought we might use our time to explore parts of the UK neither of us had visited before. Two years on we haven’t done that, we’ve travelled in Europe instead. So this September we took the opportunity to spend a week in North Yorkshire, UK.

One Word Sunday – Blue

Jardin Majorelle – the former home of Yves Saint Laurent in Marrakech, Morocco.

Here’s hoping I’ve done this correctly. I’m new to using WordPress and photo challenges but I’d like to participate. This is my image for this weeks One Word Sunday Challenge – Blue

London – November 2023

Day 1 – Borough Market and ‘Dear England

We love a trip to London and try to get there once a year. It’s just a fantastic place to visit and, although we’re regular visitors to the capitol, we can always find something new to do or see. The planning for this trip started when we were offered free tickets for the Cake and Bake show at Earls Court which was in late November.
