Lens Artist Challenge #354: Reflections

Anne has set this weeks challenge and asks us to post images with reflections. Here’s a link to Annes original post. I’m a little short on reflection images other than bridal preparation shots (I have lots of those). I have been able to find a few though so here they are.

Lens-Artists Challenge #352 – Mellow

Sofia has set this weeks Lens-Artist challenge and asks us to post images following a theme of mellow, calm and relaxing. Sofia’s original challenge post can be found here.

These Munkeh’s look pretty chilled relaxing on my garden fence. They used to give these guys away with PG Tips tea bags in the UK.

This weeks theme really is a challenge for my portfolio as conceptual photography isn’t something I’ve concentrated on in the past. The stock agency I sell with, Alamy, isn’t really that sort of place. A quick search through the Alamy database, using the word mellow, just brings back pages of images featuring branded items featuring the word mellow.

Lens-Artists Challenge #351 – Books

Ritva has set this weeks challenge and has asked for images of any kind of books that inspire a love for reading. Ritva’s challenge post is here.

We’re on holiday in Rhodes, Greece this week so I don’t have access to my images, except for a few stored on my iPad. The best I could do, at short notice, was to pop in to a local Greek Orthodox Church, near our hotel, this morning and grab this. It certainly wouldn’t make for light reading but it is a book! Hopefully I can do better next week.

Lens-artists Challenge #347 – Break the Rules!

Ritva hosts this weeks challenge and invites us to post images that break the traditional rules of photography. Like Ritva I’ve struggled to find examples. I predominantly shoot images for stock so I’m always shooting on thirds with copy space and headings in mind. I have found a few images, shown below, and I’ve captioned them with why I think they break the rules. Here’s a link to Ritva’s challenge post.

Lens-Artists #346 – Cinematic

A man walking across a road junction in Marrakech, Morocco. We were having a coffee in a Sky Bar which was great for views down in to the street below. I think the unusual viewpoint gives it a cinematic feel. I search out Sky Bars wherever we go now.

This week’s Lens Artists Challenge is presented by Sofia, and it’s Cinematic. I’m a bit rushed posting this as we’re travelling to Lanzarote later today but, having missed last weeks challenge, I didn’t want another to pass me by.

LENS ARTISTS CHALLENGE#344: ABANDONED

The Bay of Abandoned Hotels

Hotel Pelegrin

This week our Lens Artists Challenge host is Anne. The theme is Abandoned

The Bay of Abandoned Hotels is located at Župa Bay. Kupari, Croatia, about twenty minutes along the coast from Dubrovnik. Kupari’s Župa Bay is an old resort of five large hotels that were constructed for the former Yugoslav Peoples Army in the early 1960’s. The hotels were attacked and badly damaged during the Yugoslav Wars in the early 1990’s and then abandoned.
