A year or so ago I invested in a Fujifilm XF80mm F2.8 Macro lens. It’s an expensive lens to buy new, retailing at over £1000 in the UK. I bought mine second hand from MPB for about £600. It was advertised as mint condition and I wasn’t disappointed, it was like new. I buy all my lenses, used, from MPB these days and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I’ve needed to write a short blog to catch up on some of my recent bakes and food images. So here goes. First up is a Lemonopita, a Greek Lemon Pie. The idea for making this came about after we discovered lemon pie in a new Greek bakery in Bristol. It’s the same as a Greek Orange Pie, made with crushed filo pastry, but uses a lemon syrup, rather than orange syrup, to soak the cake.

We’ve had a tiny round cactus plant at home for about five years or so now. I think it probably came home with us as one of a pack of tiny cacti from Ikea. I’ve never really bothered with it and it normally sits, out of the way, on a book shelf, at the back of the kitchen. It’s in a really good warm, light position.

We went back in to Bristol yesterday to meet up with my daughter, Zoe, and three of our grandchildren, Ewan, Barney and Toby, with the intention of visiting a few more Gromit Unleashed 3 Sculptures. We decided to go in to the Clifton area of the city and pick off the five figurines located there.
