Beth has set this weeks Lens-Artist Challenge with the theme ‘wings’. Beths original post can be viewed here. A few wing pics from me, starting with planes.

A few birds with specialist wings adapted for catching prey.

Lovely post, as I usually am drawn to nature images, those are the ones I am drawn to the A flying black ant , hover fly, and the owl caught most of my attention. Great photography, that is something I always like and try to learn from
Thank you Ritva. I’ve been learning and getting inspiration from your blogs 🙂
As an aviator, I enjoyed your priority of featuring humanity’s conquering of flight over species that were designed to fly. I ascribe to the notion that If man were meant to fly, our wallets would be a lot heavier. >grin<
Thank you John. You make me laugh out loud 🙂
Steve, thanks for this great response to the challenge. I really like the airplane images and your nature captures are outstanding. I love the puffin!
Thank you Beth. An excellent challenge topic 🙂
The sharpeness of your details is simply awesome. Puffin wins, they always do, no bird looks better than a puffin 😀
Thank you Sofia. So tame and so tiny up close. That was on Skomer Island off the coast of South Wales. We had a fabulous day there 🙂
So envious 🙂
This is a great post, Steve. The photos are awesome. Thanks for the info on several of the wildlife you shared.
Thank you Egidio 🙂
Well Steve, it’s one thing to capture a beautiful barn owl but quite another to actually catch it with prey in talons!! Beautiful work as always – some of your planes are simply astounding!
Thank you Tina. That Barn Owl would regularly hunt in a field local to us. They’ll hunt in the day if they have young to feed. Unfortunately they’ve left the area now 😦
Beautiful images Steve, I especially love the way you captured the smiling puffin 😊
Thank you Xenia. Those puffins are so tame, I could have photographed them with a 50mm lens 🙂
Very nice photographs, Steve. My favorites are the birds and your captures are excellent.
Thank you Joanne 🙂
The birds and bees are great, but I love the planes, I thought of those, but I don’t fly enough to be able to get potos like that.
Thank you Leanne 🙂
Beautiful shots! The owl one is great!!!
Thank you Pamela 🙂
