It’s funny, how looking around WordPress blogs can take you off in a totally different direction to the one you initially started out on. This happened to me yesterday when I began some holiday research for Rethymno, Crete, Greece.

Having typed Rethymno into the WP Reader search box, the first post that popped up was this excellent blog – Route planning Episode 717 from Rose and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. The blog is really good and full of great advice. We’ve now plotted out where we’re going to buy our first ice cream in Rethymno!
However, what also caught my eye in the blog was a cartoon of Rose and Ted, created with Microsoft Co Pilot, an Artificial Intelligence Chatbot. I knew nothing about this software, in fact I know very little about AI in general but I liked the cartoon so I thought I’d give it a go.
The software is freely available online and creating a cartoon just requires you to upload an image and then ask the Chatbot to turn it into a cartoon. You can specify what type of cartoon, i.e realistic, Disney style, peanuts cartoon style etc, etc.

Having played around with Co Pilot it’s very good for creating cartoons, but for caricatures, it’s a bit hit and miss. Some were good, some not.
However, what it was really good at was turning some of my general photographs of buildings and street scenes into cartoons, especially where the images were comical to start with. I’m still playing around with Co Pilot but it has been a lot of fun. Here’s a few more examples, using my images, below.
