Gromit Unleashed 3 came to the streets of Bristol, UK at the end of June and runs through until 31st August 2025. Its the third time the characters, created by Aardman Animation, have popped up on the city streets to help raise money for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.
We had to drive in to Bristol twice during the last week so whilst we were there we decided to walk around the city centre area and visit a few of the figurines. We have participated in previous Gromit Trails which I’ve blogged here. This time it’s a mix of Aardmann characters, including Wallace, Gromit, Feathers McGraw, Norbot and Shaun the Sheep.

The sculptures are just as fantastic as before. Most are sponsored and painted by well known artists and already, there were small queues forming at most of the sites whilst we were visiting.
I’m not sure if we’ll manage the whole trail this time around. Outside of the city the figurines are quite widely spread but there are plenty within easy walking distance of the central Bristol area.

You can pick up a trail map in the Grand Appeal charity shop on Marlborough Street, Bristol but the easiest way to find them is using the Gromit Unleased 3 App. Its costs just under £3 but has a virtual map and records the figurines as you visit them with a code for each sculpture at every site. The App is really good, my grandson was more interested in recording the sculptures than actually seeing them!

The trail raises an awful lot of money for a great cause so its been nice to support it whilst enjoying a walk around the city. I even found a Gromit from a previous trail that was actioned off and now stands outside the main hall of Bristol University. As you can see from the image below, it’s graduation week at the Uni.
