Ritva has set this weeks challenge and has asked for images of any kind of books that inspire a love for reading. Ritva’s challenge post is here.

We’re on holiday in Rhodes, Greece this week so I don’t have access to my images, except for a few stored on my iPad. The best I could do, at short notice, was to pop in to a local Greek Orthodox Church, near our hotel, this morning and grab this. It certainly wouldn’t make for light reading but it is a book! Hopefully I can do better next week.

Beautiful photos, Steve. Have fun in Greece!
Thank you Egidio 🙂
What a beautiful church Steve!
Hi Anne, yes it’s lovely. They leave it open and make you feel very welcome. Just like everything and everyone here 🙂
😎
You managed quite beautifully Steve! Good on you for finding a way to post despite no access to your image database!
Thank you Tina 🙂
Great of you to post even on holiday, lovely shots. Enjoy your stay.
Thank you Ritva 🙂
Have a wonderful time, Steve. These are gorgeous.
Thank you Sofia 🙂
Ahh Rhodes. Been there. You CAN post from Rhodes! Well done.
Thank you John. I think Rhodes is my favourite place from anywhere we’ve visited. We’ve already planned next years trip there. We’re going to Crete later in the year and it will be interesting to see how it compares
I’ve enjoyed Crete a couple of times. Consider staying overnight at the end of the Samaria Gorge and hiking along the coast to the town with transport back to Heraklion. Research it first.
Thank you John, I’ll look into that 🙂
This looks remarkably similar to some things I saw in Coptic Cairo Orthodox churches, really beautiful texts!
